When you get stuck, when your thoughts go around in circles, when you don’t know which way to go, start walking and move, literally, into the unknown space. Be content with not-knowing. Become curious about where your feet are taking you. Find your amazement at what you see and feel and discover that nothing, nothing in this world is permanent. Grief comes but also goes. As do anger, frustration and confusion. Discover that there is more than that which occupies you now.

Trust that every moment is a new moment

There is never only confusion or only grief. In every moment, there is also joy, rest, and space. By shifting your focus, shifting your location, new experiences arise. Trust in this. Trust that, every day, new, fresh life will flow through you. That every moment is a new moment. If you want to get back in touch with the freshness of life, welcome everything that arrives. Forget the story you wanted to make of it. Forget that you want it to be different than it is. I am angry PERIOD. I am confused PERIOD. No more or less than that. You don’t have to do anything else. That which must happen will happen anyway. That which needs to move has already started moving. That is the way of nature. Once you give yourself permission to practice this, life will become much lighter.
